Transgender Persons

We, at Checking Premises, recognize the fact that there is often disagreement on various ideas and issues between reasonable individuals.  We do not hold the premise that honest disagreement about the proper applications of Objectivist principles, even if that disagreement is with Dr. Piekoff or Ayn Rand herself, is wrong or cause for moral condemnation.  However, we do hold that there is a right way and a wrong way to express such disagreement.  The right way requires that one maintain the full context of the facts, the forum (e.g. a private email or a public webcast), and everything known about the principals involved.  Referring to Ayn Rand's legal and intellectual heir, the founder of the Ayn Rand Institute, and the man who, in our estimation, has done more to promote and uphold Objectivism than anyone other than Ayn Rand herself as "horribly ignorant" and engaging in "armchair philosophizing at its worst” is not the right way.
